MULTICULTURAL ADVERTISING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.
.
After a rigorous and competitive application process, I was honored to be selected for the Multicultural Advertising Internship Program (MAIP) - the foundation of my career in advertising!
MAIP allows BIPOC students to begin their careers in the industry. Being part of this fellowship comes with a summer partnership with an ad agency to engage in a 10- week internship with my desired discipline. In addition, I had access to a wide range of resources and professional opportunities to prepare us for the ad world and our careers, like training, one-on-one coaching, MAIP labs, and various opportunities to network with MAIP alumni and industry leaders.

As a MAIP fellow, I received an offer at Barkley as a Public Relations Intern.
It has been an inspiring and exciting experience to work with a creative idea whose mission is to #addgood to the world by pushing sustainability and continuing to advocate for diversity, inclusion, and societal issues.
As a remote intern, I was very grateful to come in person to their headquarters in Kansas City, MO, and experience the company’s culture for their annual tradition and celebration, Good Night/ Great Day!

This opportunity allowed me to connect and build relationships with my team at the agency and many talented professional leaders who have gifted me with their wisdom in the ad industry.
I have met MAIP fellows and alumni from around the nation who have shown their support as I navigate this internship and career journey.

Although my educational background is in Graphic Designer, I am passionate about community outreach and have learned that I love working closely with teams. Therefore, I am grateful for a program that gives me the space and resources to explore different roles where I can combine my creative background, leadership, and passions. My mission is to find my niche, solve problems in the advertising industry and ultimately make a good impact on the world.
